In 1959, the seven-foot Wilt Chamberlain, an All- American from Overbrook High School in Philadelphia, began his Hall of Fame career. Chamberlain quickly became a dominant force and won both MVP and Rookie of the Year honors in his first season in the NBA. Throughout his 14-year career, Chamberlain accumulated more than 31,000. Chamberlain holds multiple NBA records, including his 100-point performance against the Knicks in 1962. During the 1971-72 season, Chamberlain led the Los Angeles Lakers to the NBA Finals where they defeated the New York Knicks for their first title in Los Angeles. Chamberlain was named the MVP of the Finals as he collected his second NBA title.
